3 Cards for PTI

I was so relieved today to find out the house of my friend in Houston has not flooded & was not hit by the tornado in her suburb.  So nice to hear something good in the midst of such a catastrophe.
Guess I didn't have the right frame of mind as I found PTI SAF pretty overwhelming with so many challenges this year.  The last couple days I did work on 3 other challenges that are perfect for Fall cards.
First is my entry for Bronze with Kimberly Crawford to use Perfect Pearls.
I stamped the images from Take 3: Fall with Perfect Medium on Ripe Avocado cardstock & brushed on the bronze powder. The sheen is really beautiful in real life.
The sentiment from Mat Stack 3 was stamped in Hero Arts Cup O' Joe & the panel was matted with textured dark brown cardstock.  Fun to use a bit of twine with a metallic thread.  I'm also entering SSS Wednesday & Work it Wednesday.

Next is my entry for Bronze with Jessica Frost-Ballas to use bronze metallics.
I swiped a panel of Scarlet Jewel cardstock with my Versamark pad & embossed with JudiKins Metallic Bronze--just love the look!  I finally used the Fancy Foliage Details dies cutting them from Melon Berry Cardstock.  I liked the look with the small pieces left in place.  The sentiment from Take 3: Fall was clear embossed, as I wanted to keep it fairly subtle.
A little strip of Classic Kraft was attached to the left side & I decided against any embellishments.  I'm also entering SSS Wednesday.

Last is my entry for Tin + Aluminum with Carissa Wiley to use
gilding flakes.
I've had leafing or flakes for nearly 20 years, but seldom use them. Running out of time, so kept it simple & gilded a die cut leaf from In the Meadow using a double-sided sheet of adhesive.
It takes a little time, but is simple & so beautiful. The sentiment from Autumn Adornments was stamped in Versafine Vintage Sepia & the card front texture is done with the canvas/linen impression plate.  I splattered with Distress Stain tarnished brass.  I'm also entering SSS Wednesday.

Cobalt Blue Butterfly

My heart goes out to everyone caught in the flooding disaster in Texas & the gulf coast. Hubby's son-in-law was born & raised in the Houston area & still has family & friends there.  So, so sad.
I'm so lucky to have sweet blogging friends who send me die cuts, including C&9 Floral & Fauna.
For the last challenge I used the blossom, so for the current Anything Goes challenge at Where Creativity Meets C9 I'm using the gorgeous butterfly. It's colored with a sparkle blue Spectrum Noir pen which was also used on the edges of a dry embossed panel.
Another sweet friend sent me the cute little gems I used for the body. Don't think I've ever used this sentiment from a 2009 Hero Arts set. My sister could use a hug right now & she loves blue & butterflies. Hopefully this will make her smile. Thanks so much for taking time to stop by.

PTI SAF

Last night I decided to combine the first 3 challenges for this year's PTI Stamp A Faire: Take Ten Warm Up (black & white), Paper with Rebecca (paper bow) & Paper with Laura (scraps & vellum overlay).
I used the scallop note card die from Don't Forget to Write along with dies & images from Twig Wreath.  Kind of like using a vellum overlay with a wreath--hadn't done that before.  The inks are Soft Stone, Brilliance Starlite Black & DI hickory smoke (splatters).  The little PPP clear confetti dots provide a bit of bling.  I'm also entering SSS Work it Wednesday. Thanks so much for taking time to stop by.

Z Fold Card

I don't usually do any fancy fold cards & I've never made a Z fold card until now.  Hate to miss any PTI MIM challenges & Ashley's card is darling. The cutting & folding was easy, but I was a little stumped with what to do next!  Ended up sponging & splattering with DI blueprint sketch & wilted violet on the panels that show from the front.

Then I watercolored stripes for the inside center panel.  Images from Snowflake Flurries were stamped in Delicata Silvery Shimmer, except for the back panel.

I used my Mini MISTI to stamp the silver sentiment & get it dark enough. The die cut snowflake was also done with the MISTI so I could stamp it multiple times with both colors.  I covered it with Wink of Stella, clear embossed & finished with a silver glitter Nuvo Drop.
Not sure I'll actually send this one, but it was fun to try something different.  I've already started another one using the rest of that 8 1/2 x 11 piece of cardstock--can't let it go to waste! I'm also entering Rudolph Days.
PTI Stamp A Faire starts today--always fun with so many challenges to try. I have a fun event tomorrow, but will still have plenty of time to play along as the deadline isn't until Aug. 31.  We don't get hurricanes or tornadoes (very few)--one reason we love it here.  I can't imagine what so many people are dealing with today as Harvy approaches the US & pray everyone stays safe.  Thanks so much for taking time to stop by.

Final MFT Camp Create Cards

Mr Random may not find me, but I had a great time making 6 cards I really like for MFT Camp Create.  Today are my last 2 entries.  First is the card for Day 4: Monochromatic Magic.  I think it also qualifies for Day 3: Background Bonanza.
My Zigs have been neglected lately, so decided to use 3 greens with the MFT Geometric Grid Background which I white embossed.  Finally used some of the MFT Wild Greenery dies & colored the cuts with the same pens, but used a lot less water. Couldn't resist adding some Wink of Stella, but still think this could go to a guy or a gal.
I only applied glue to the ends tucked under the sentiment banner made with a white embossed stamp from MFT Totally Happy.  Finished off with PPP clear dots & mounted the panel to a white linen card.  I'm also entering CropStop, Stamping Sensations & Word Art Wednesday.

Last card for camp is my hubby's anniversary card--2 weeks early, for a change--haha!  It's another entry for Day 3: Background Bonanza, but this time I used the MFT Graduated Hearts stencil with Heidi Swapp silver Art Screen Ink which has a lovely shimmer.
The background for the hearts was made by smooshing DI wilted violet & blueprint sketch on watercolor paper.  I used the same 2 inks & my Mini MISTI for the sentiment stamp from an unlabeled MFT stamp set.
I fussy cut the image & added a little heart gem I colored with a black Copic & covered with a thin layer of black Nuvo drops. Think hubby will like this one--he's not much into red, but he does like blue & purple.  I'm also entering CropStop.  Thanks so much for taking time to stop by.

The Eclipse was Awesome!

We had clear blue skies--perfect for viewing the total solar eclipse!  It was truly an amazing experience!
It's great that MFT gives everyone lots of time to enter Camp Create.  I have 4 more cards done, but I'll just show you 2 of them today.  First is one I made for Day 3: Background Bonanza & I happened to use an ombre color scheme, so I'll also add it to Bonfire Bonus: Awesome Ombre.
I used DI candied apple, abandoned coral & fossilized amber with MFT Concentric Circle stencil.  Then I cut out the sentiment using MFT High Rise Lower Case Alphabet.  The bird die cut is from MFT Contempo Cage. I'm also entering CropStop.
Next is my card for Day 5: Delightful Diecutting.  I don't have candle dies, but I loved how Stephanie used them.  I did basically the same idea with MFT Primitive Pumpkins dies & stamps.
I used DI carved pumpkin & added WOS to the pumpkins. The sentiment strip is popped up with foam tape.
I'm also entering SSS Wednesday.  Thanks so much for taking time to stop by.

Fishy Fun with a new technique

My brother-in-law loves to fish.  Recently a sweet friend gave me the Penny Black fish dies, so had to use one for his BD card.
Luckily, one of the Pinterest emails had a Ranger video showing how to paint with Liquid Pearls.  I have 6 bottles because I love the beautiful, shimmery colors.  However, I've never been successful using them to make pearls.  Now they'll be more than decorations for my craft table!
I was playing around with Distress Ink techniques using several shades of blue.  Didn't really turn out, but decided it'd work for the sea by cutting it apart with Spellbinder edge dies I won at The Playground.  The sentiment is a very old PB stamp I always reach for--just love that font which I think works for guys or gals.  I didn't like how stark the clear dots looked, so used soft green sequins for the bubbles.  Really had fun making this card--a bit different.  I'm entering The Playground, SSS Monday, Country View Challenges, DRU, SSS Wednesday & Word Art Wednesday.

Hubby's washing off the deck where we'll be sitting tomorrow morning watching the total eclipse.  How lucky to be in the path of totality & not even have to leave home!  Hoping the clouds & smoke stay away!  Thanks so much for taking time to stop by.
Edited to add: Also entering Inkspirational.
